Quiet incredibly beautiful hotel with good location in a converted monastery. Nicely decorated room with character and very attentive and competent staff. Location not far from the central plaza and other areas and an excellent restaurant. And 5 mins walk to Coudelaria de Alter.

The room was nicely decorated with a balcony and a large bathroom. the breakfast had a huge variety of options. - the staff was competent and attentive throughout the day. - the location was magnificent and beautiful, a short walk to an excellent restaurant, the center of town, and the central plaza.

The swimming pool was nice, and the hotel is beautiful

Beautiful Traditional Hotel. Very pleasant staff. Room always clean and tidy. Room has easy acess to the swimming pool.

Comfortable guestrooms ensure a good night's sleep with air conditioning, heating, and antique furnishings.

As 4-star hotels go, this one is superb. The quality of this hotel is on par with most of the Pousadas of Portugal, but the price cannot be beat. Classy, beautiful accommodations and excellent decor combine with a very professional and friendly staff. Location is excellent for exploring the high Alentejo. I would go there again but stay longer.

The background music in the restaurant and bar was a cheesy "flute" soundtrack that repeated incessantly - a minor annoyance. Breakfast was not stellar (for a 4-star), but was more or less standard for Portuguese hotels.

We were visiting the Coudelaria D'Alter for its annual open day so the location of the hotel was wonderful. We ate in the Restaurant and it could have been better but it was passable. The room was fantastic particularly as we had two dogs with us. We were given a room on the ground floor with French doors opening onto a terrace and thereafter on to the pool area . Very quiet, very comfortable, room spacious, wonderful hot water and a nice bath. All in all a great stay.

Beautiful old building in a quiet town. Well positioned for exploring the Eastern area. Spacious room with pool view. Attractive interior cloister. Good snacks at the bar.

The room here is beautifully decorated and large, the WiFi works well, the shower was good, and on top of that, there is a lovely pool; the hotel is situated in a beautiful location within the region.

The staff was super friendly, the rooms were comfy and clean, and the breakfast was delicious. We even got to go fishing and hiking nearby, which was so much fun! The swimming pool was great for a cool dip after a long day of adventures. Definitely recommend for a relaxing and memorable vacation with friends!

The only thing we wished for was a better nightlife scene for young party-goers. Would have been awesome to have some cool bars or clubs nearby to hang out and dance the night away.

The hotel offers outstanding food. It is located in a magnificent area very close to the main square. - the hotel is excellent for visiting a medieval castle. - It is a good place to stay in winter time.
